Sense of Direction (scales nav)

Which way did the arrow turn?

Aon's Sense of Direction (scales nav): memorise an arrow's heading, then — when it reappears in a new position — decide whether it stayed put, turned left 90°, turned right 90°, or rotated 180°. One relentless minute of spatial transformation.

What to expect

  • An arrow is shown for a few seconds — memorise its heading.
  • It reappears in a new position.
  • Pick the manoeuvre that took it there: straight (stayed), left, right or U-turn (180°).

What it measures

  • Spatial transformation
  • Mental rotation
  • Working memory

Instructions

  1. 1Study the first arrow's direction, then remember it.
  2. 2When the new position shows, choose how it rotated: up = stayed, left = left 90°, right = right 90°, U-turn = 180°.
  3. 3Use the buttons or the arrow keys (↑ stayed, ← left, → right, ↓ 180°).
  4. 4Answer quickly — you have one minute.

Tips

  • Fix the tail-to-tip line in your mind before it changes.
  • A left 90° and a right 90° look opposite — don't rush the mirror.
